The power of polyurea.

Polyurea outperforms traditional epoxy in flexibility, durability, and chemical resistance. It absorbs impacts, resists oil and gasoline, stays stable under UV, and holds its integrity through temperature extremes — so it does not crack, yellow, or peel the way epoxy does in a Tennessee garage.

  • 4× stronger than epoxy — unmatched durability and impact resistance
  • Chemical & UV resistant — oil, gasoline, sunlight, road salt
  • Flexibility ensured — adapts to temperature changes without cracking
  • Fast return to service — foot traffic in 12 hours, vehicles in 24
  • Custom color flake — blended on site to match the space

The process

Enhanced concrete coating process

This is the whole thing, start to finish. A coating fails when the prep is rushed — so we publish the steps and hold the crew to them.

01

Prep for base coat

Our crews grind up to 1/16th of an inch off the top of the concrete, then vacuum the slab to remove dust and particulates. Cracks and pitting are treated before anything else goes down.

02

Base coat application

Two options: a diagnostic polyurea coat that seals the floor and protects the second coat from contaminants the grinding did not remove, or a single-application polyurea base — edges cut in, then the full surface rolled for even coverage.

03

Broadcasting the color flake

Immediately after the base coat is applied, color flakes are broadcast by hand into the wet coating — generously, to cover the entire floor and keep color and texture uniform.

04

Flake adjustment

Once the base coat cures, we scrape the floor with metal blade scrapers to remove loose or vertically standing flakes, then vacuum with industrial equipment for a smooth, clean base.

05

Clear coat application

A clear polyaspartic top coat seals in the flakes and adds durability. Vertical surfaces and edges first, then squeegeed and rolled across the floor to prevent lines. Extra grip is available for wet areas like pool decks and hot tub surrounds.

06

Curing and completion

Dry to the touch in 12 hours — foot traffic and items up to 600 lbs can return. After 24 hours the floor handles vehicle traffic.

Answers

Concrete coating questions

Is polyurea better than epoxy for a garage floor?

Yes, in almost every way that matters in Tennessee. Polyurea is roughly 4× stronger than epoxy, flexes with temperature swings instead of cracking, resists oil, gasoline, and household chemicals, and holds its color under UV exposure.

How long before I can park on a new coated floor?

The coating is dry to the touch in about 12 hours — foot traffic and items up to 600 lbs can return then. After 24 hours the floor is ready for vehicle traffic.

What surfaces can Three Stone coat?

Garages, basements, patios, driveways, walkways, pool decks, warehouses, showrooms, and industrial floors. We add extra slip resistance in wet areas such as pool decks and hot tub surrounds.
